Pocket — Save anywhere

Browser extension v0.1.0

The fastest path. Saves in ~1 second — your browser already has the page rendered (paywall already bypassed by your own cookies and session). Works on desktop Chrome / Edge / Brave, and on Android with the Kiwi browser.

↓ Download Pocket Saver (.zip)

Desktop install (Chrome / Edge / Brave)
  1. Unzip the download.
  2. Open chrome://extensions (or edge://extensions, etc.).
  3. Toggle Developer mode on (top right).
  4. Click Load unpacked and pick the unzipped pocket-extension folder.
  5. Pin the extension to your toolbar. Sign in once at pocket.hessler.app — it picks up your session automatically.
  6. Click the icon on any article (keyboard: ⌘⇧S / Ctrl+Shift+S).
Android install (Kiwi browser)
  1. Install Kiwi Browser from Play Store.
  2. Open Kiwi → tap the ⋮ menu → Extensions.
  3. Toggle Developer mode at the top.
  4. Tap +(from .zip/.crx/.user.js) and pick the downloaded pocket-saver.zip.
  5. Open this site in Kiwi and sign in — the extension picks up your session.
  6. On any article tap the ⋮ menu → Pocket SaverSave this page.

Kiwi is Chromium-based; same extension code works.

Bookmarklet

One-tap save that works on every browser, including mobile Kiwi. The bookmarklet grabs the rendered DOM directly from the current tab — same quality as the extension save, no paywall round-trip, no PWA window detour.

Save to Pocket

Desktop: drag the button to your bookmarks bar (or right-click → Bookmark this link).
Mobile (Kiwi/Chrome on Android): long-press the button → Add to bookmarks (or copy the link below and create a new bookmark with it).

Native Android app v0.1.0

A dedicated Android browser that wraps a WebView with paywall bypass and saves straight to this library. The cleanest mobile path — system share works perfectly, every save uses the live DOM, no extension setup needed.

↓ Download Pocket Browser (.apk)

Install steps
  1. Tap the download button above on your phone. Kiwi/Chrome will warn that the file may harm your device — tap Download anyway.
  2. Open the downloaded APK. If prompted, enable Install unknown apps for your browser or file manager.
  3. Launch Pocket Browser, sign in with the same Google account you use here.
  4. Share any URL from any app → pick Pocket Browser. It opens the URL with paywall bypass, auto-saves once hydrated, and bounces back.

Source under apps/pocket-android.

PWA share-target

If you'd rather not install the APK, the PWA itself is registered as a share target. Open this site in Chrome, tap the menu, and choose Install app. Then any app's Share menu will list Pocket as a target. Note: works best on sites without paywalls (paywalled saves should use the APK).

iOS — share from Safari

Add to Home Screen via the share sheet to install. Then use the share sheet from Safari and pick Pocket. (Web Share Target on iOS lags Android — bookmarklet works in Safari too.)
